What is Webster Electric Foundation?

Webster Electric Foundation

The Webster Electric Foundation is a not for profit charitable organization set up to provide funding for community-minded projects. It is governed by a Board of Directors and has obtained IRS code section 501 (c) (3) status. All operating expenses of the Foundation are being donated by Webster Electric Cooperative, therefore 100% of funds donated, will be given back to the communities in the form of grants.

Where does the money come from?

Operation Round Up

The money comes from a variety of sources, but the majority of the funds come from "Operation Round Up." Operation Round Up is a program through Webster Electric Cooperative in which members round-up their utility bill to the nearest dollar each month.

What is the money used for?

The Board of Directors of the Webster Electric Foundation chooses grant recipients quarterly from a pool of applicants. Applicants must be non-profit organizations in WEC's service territory with a detailed project for community betterment.

How Can I help?

You can help make the Foundation successful by providing "change for change." Your participation in Operation Round Up will cost you an average of 50ยข per month, or $6 per year, and is completely tax deductible.

Because of the broad-based benefit of this program, we assume that all new members will want to be involved. New members will automatically be signed up when you enroll for service. Then, when you figure your bill each month, use the charts provided by the co-op to help you determine the total amount owed.

If you have questions or would like to sign up for Operation Round Up, please call member service at 859-2216 or email Bobbi Ragsdale.
